Groezrock goodies. I have a lot of Smoke or Fire homework to do!
Masked Intruder @ The Macbeth, London, 12/04/13
Pop punk troublemakers Masked Intruder have already gained a massive following quite fast, thanks in large part to their hilariously over the top image as wanted criminals, but mainly because they just so happen to boast a slew of incredibly catchy, ridiculously bouncy, punk rock love songs. Their burgeoning popularity is obvious tonight, as the cosy confines of The Macbeth are heaving with sweaty bodies, even moreso than when I caught the band for the first time, squashed into Durty Nelly’s in Gainesville, Florida. On that occasion, they played the must-see set of the weekend, at Fest, the annual punk pilgrimage, and cemented their status as ones to watch for this year’s festival, though I doubt they’ll be stuck in Nelly’s again, after the crowd they attracted. And, if tonight is anything to go by, they won’t be returning to The Macbeth any time soon, either.
